Meet Julie Daly, Finance Manager & IHI Award Nominee

Finance Manager with Trigon Hotels, Julie Daly is a finalist in the ‘Finance Manager of the Year’ category at this year’s Irish Hospitality Institute Hospitality Management Awards which take place on 24th November 2022. 

We caught up with Julie to find out more about her hospitality journey in advance of the awards.

How did you begin your career in hospitality?

I spent the first five years of my career in Manufacturing where I qualified as an accountant and needed to gain wider experience – I saw the fast paced well established hospitality industry that is ever changing as a way of developing my career I’ve had many opportunities for growth both personally and professionally and have remained in the sector ever since

What is your favourite thing about your role?

Versatility of being able to do a variety of tasks, no day is the same I enjoy the challenging nature of the Industry, problem solving and analysing data along with being involved in new technologies within the Sector as well as the finance Department and working collaboratively with people to achieve successful outcomes.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to pursue a career in hospitality finance?

They will gain a wide variety of skills in an exciting environment that is constantly changing and plenty of opportunities within the industry
