A Fresh Approach To Getting Ready For a Couple’s Big Day

Cork International Hotel hosts new event to help people enjoy big wedding decisions

A unique wedding needs unique preparation, and that’s what’s on offer at the Cork International Hotel on Saturday April 6th.

Other hotels and venues hold wedding fairs all the time – but the Cork International Hotel is getting ready to host the ‘The Wedding Planning Workshop’. The idea came about as part of the hotel’s commitment to help couples as much as possible on the road to the big occasion.

The average budget for an Irish wedding is creeping ever higher and over a third of couples now spend over €20,000. Research from WeddingDates.ie shows almost two thirds of people will invite 180 guests. Two thirds will also spend €5,000 on the engagement ring.  But how do you know if you should go for a church wedding or a civil ceremony or get married here or abroad or even whether you can afford chair covers or to let your mum bring her 12 best friends?

There’s so much to decide, it can be overwhelming. Have you ever been to a wedding fair where topics like wellness, budgeting and pros and cons of various venue options are discussed? Or where you can sit in comfort and listen to experts in their field give independent advice on honeymooning, industry trends in themes, decor and more? With breaks for refreshment included?

If the answer to these questions is ‘no’, save the date now and come along to The Wedding Planning Workshop at Cork International Hotel on April 6th, in association with To Have & To Hold and WeddingDates.ie

General Manager Carmel Lonergan says: ‘Wedding fairs are great fun but often couples leave with lots of leaflets and goodie bags and find they still have to do more research themselves. Cork International Hotel has always aimed to make a wedding day as enjoyable and stress-free as possible, and with The Wedding Planning Workshop, we want to ensure couples are well-informed and relaxed when deciding major parts of the process’.

Sara Kennedy from irishweddingblog.ie will be MC on the day. She says ‘I’m thrilled to be on board as part of the first ever Wedding Planning Workshop. It makes complete sense to me to offer a relaxed, friendly environment for couples when they’re trying to make decisions on practical parts of their day. I can’t wait to meet the couples who come along to the Cork International Hotel and to hear the advice from some of the best in the business’!
