Trigon Spotlight – Breda O Connell

We at Cork International Hotel would like to introduce you to Breda O Connell one of our fantastic Senior Receptionists. You may have met Breda when checking in at the front desk, enquiring over the phone or perhaps occasionally at our events as she is always willing to give a hand.

Breda grew up in the small village of Kilnamartyra in west Cork, on her family’s farm. She was brought up in the world of GAA, playing herself at a young age and continuing the love for GAA by going to local matches with her father. ‘’A typically Irish upbringing’’ she describes.

Breda completed her Leaving Cert in Coláiste Ghobnatan, Baile Mhic Íre, where she then went on to UCC to study arts with the hope of becoming a teacher. At the time she was working part time as a waitress and found she really enjoyed working in the hospitality industry. Breda soon made the decision to move full time into hospitality. She has gathered her F&B skills, became an Events Floor Manager and then moved to Cork International Hotel as Senior Receptionist. Working in Cork International Hotel, Breda says the ‘community spirit is amazing between everyone involved’. She enjoys the relationships she has built with her manager and other department managers, each team in the hotel and of course she loves the relationships she has built with guests. Breda’s relationship with our guests is just one of many reasons why Breda became Employee of the Month for Feburary 2020.

With not only a drive for progression and development in her career in hospitality, Breda also loves spending time taking her gorgeous Lurcher Cross Éabha for walks. She also enjoys catching up with friends and grabbing a book for a relaxing read.

Thank you, Breda, for your hard work and dedication! Wishing Breda all the best in her progression within our Cork International Family  #TEAMAPPRECIATION #NO1CORKHOTEL
